The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a comprehensive privacy protection regulation in California, United States. This act was signed into law in June 2018 and officially came into effect on January 1, 2020. The CCPA primarily targets companies operating in California, especially those with annual revenues exceeding $25 million, at least 50% of which come from selling consumers' personal information, or those that buy, sell, or share the personal information of more than 50,000 consumers.
